ProjectONE Update

Buckle your seat belt! ProjectONE is revving the engine and racing down the track as the team continues to test the new Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) and develop training materials. Cycle 2 of functional testing began April 4 and will continue into May, followed by integration testing. Integration testing will be the first opportunity for DIR staff to test drive CAPPS.

Accounting Manager and ProjectONE subject matter expert Sugie Day understands the importance of CAPPS. “I look forward to CAPPS providing a fully integrated and up-to-date system,” she said. Current legacy systems require memorizing t-codes and extensive training in order for users to operate. In contrast, CAPPS is web-based and intuitive with convenient drop-down menus.

Day is also impressed with the level of commitment among the ProjectONE team this past year and a half. “There have been countless hours spent in requirement gathering and fit/gap meetings, as well as development sessions. All of these sessions were attended with the same level of dedication that has been given to conducting business at our regular jobs,” she added.

The anticipation is building, and Day predicts a bright future for DIR and CAPPS. “After months of hard work we will soon be able to see what CAPPS will mean for this agency, and we can’t wait to begin using it!”
